Hi, I’m Colleen — founder of WaYa and someone who believes fitness should feel less like pressure and more like purpose.
A question I get asked all the time is:
“What’s the difference between CrossFit and HYROX?”
…well? They’re both incredible and challenging in a whole different way.
WaYa offers both dedicated CrossFit and HYROX classes, but more importantly, we’ve created a hybrid programming approach that blends the best of both worlds. That means you’ll build the strength of a CrossFitter and the endurance of a HYROX athlete—no matter which class you’re attending.
So, how are they different?
- CrossFit is all about variety. It combines weightlifting, cardio, and gymnastics in fast-paced, ever-changing workouts that build full-body power, coordination, and skill.
- HYROX, on the other hand, is structured. It’s an endurance race format: Running, followed by 1 of 8 specific functional exercises (think sled push, Ski Erg, wall balls), repeated until you cross the finish line.
CrossFit is explosive and technical. HYROX is steady, sweaty, and repeatable.
But both are functional, both are intense, and both deliver results — and at WaYa, we scale everything to your level. Whether you’re just starting out or chasing your next big goal, you’ll be supported every step of the way on both these journeys.
Also worth noting: every class earns you Vitality points. So while you’re building strength and endurance, you’re also racking up rewards.
So, CrossFit or HYROX?
Honestly — do both. Do one. Do what fits you.
We’re not here to box you into a label — we’re here to help you move better, feel stronger, and actually enjoy the journey.
